Capital and Investment Analyst

Aviva Ireland are now looking for a new Capital and Investment Analyst to join our team in Dublin or Galway. This is a new position in an established team –providing an exciting opportunity to contribute and drive the direction of the Investments and Capital processes in a role that will mature in responsibility as you grow into the role.

In this role, you will work directly alongside the Capital and Investments Lead on capital optimisation, ALM, investment oversight and liquidity management, supporting business growth and driving risk-reward decision making. This is a key role in a high-calibre, fast-paced team where we need to identify and react on emerging opportunities. This role would be ideal for someone motivated to grow their career quickly in a fascinating area.

This role can be based out of either our Dublin Cherrywood office or our Galway office, and benefits from Aviva's Smart Working arrangement.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Contribute to driving performance of capital metrics, analysis and identification of capital opportunities and management actions
• Developing quarterly capital forecasts and annual capital plans, producing local and Group stress and scenario testing and contribute to the oversight of strategic asset allocation for the business
• Managing financial risks including oversight of the derivatives portfolio
• Maintaining robust governance and risk management frameworks
• Liaising, coordinating and relationship building with the Aviva UK Finance team

Skills & Experiences:

• Some understanding of the insurance industry is a plus
• Commercial experience in investment and/or capital management is advantageous
• Understanding of Solvency II, capital bases and financial markets
• Trainee actuary or trainee accountant with robust technical skills
• Strong mathematical/economic educational background
