This role would be ideal for someone who enjoys or currently working in a data risk role, focusing on customer data management, data projects or Data Governance and Privacy management activities.

We are currently recruiting for a Data Risk and Controls Senior Manager to be a part of our 1st Line Customer and Marketing (C&M) Risk team. A bit about the job:

As the Data Risk and controls Senior Manager , you will provide data risk expertise within the 1st line C&M Risk team, working closely with the Chief Data Officer and their teams to support and oversee data risk management under the Aviva Risk Framework. Your responsibilities include strengthening the data risk regime, ensuring the application of appropriate controls for data consistency and integrity, overseeing strategic data change activities, performing risk assurance across customer data ecosystems, and providing oversight on Data Governance and Privacy activities. Additionally, you will collaborate with Audit, Risk, Business teams, IT, and change programs to manage emerging risks and support data requirements.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Detailed understanding of data risks and controls in highly regulated environment, ideally from financial industry

  • Knowledge of data risk framework, data risk & control management and data regulations such a GDPR in both run and change environment

  • Ability to keep up to date with emerging risks, industry trends and regulatory changes, assess their impact and ensure that best practices are embedded in day-to-day operations

  • Collaborative approach to working with data operational teams, developers, architects and subject matter experts alike, to establish the facts, and ensure good communication of requirements

  • Ability to work in complex matrix business structure and able to engage and collaborate with key stakeholders across the business to oversee and deliver the risk and control activities

  • Starting salary Circa £80,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
